Licenses & Usage Rights

How beats, kits, samples, presets, and other digital products may be used.

Last updated September 8, 2026

This Licenses & Usage Rights page explains the general licensing principles applicable to digital products offered by Abba Dagu, trading as Normae, through https://shop.normaebeats.com or https://normae.trakroom.com or https://trakroom.com/normae.

Different products may have different license terms. Where a Product-Specific License is presented on a product page, during checkout, or with a purchased product, that Product-Specific License will control in relation to that product.

Please review the applicable license before completing your purchase.

1. General Licensing Principles

Unless expressly stated otherwise, purchasing a digital product from Normae gives you a license to use the product and does not transfer ownership of the underlying copyright or intellectual property.

Copyright and ownership remain with Abba Dagu or the applicable rights holder unless a written agreement expressly states that ownership is assigned or transferred.

A purchase does not automatically give you the right to:

  • Resell the original files;
  • Redistribute the original files;
  • Share the original files with another person;
  • Upload the original files for public download;
  • Claim ownership of source material you did not create;
  • Sublicense the original product as a competing product; or
  • Use the product outside the scope of the applicable License.

2. Beats and Instrumentals

Beats, instrumentals, stems, compositions, and related sound recordings are governed by the Beat License selected or presented at the time of purchase.

Available licenses may differ in relation to:

  • File formats;
  • Distribution limits;
  • Streaming limits;
  • Monetization rights;
  • Music-video rights;
  • Live-performance rights;
  • Broadcasting;
  • Synchronization;
  • Producer credit;
  • Publishing;
  • Master-recording rights;
  • Royalties;
  • Content-identification systems;
  • Exclusive or non-exclusive use; and
  • Other commercial-use conditions.

Your rights are limited to those stated in the applicable Beat License.

Non-Exclusive Beat Licenses

A non-exclusive Beat License allows multiple customers to receive licenses to use the same beat.

Purchasing a non-exclusive Beat License does not:

  • Give you exclusive ownership of the beat;
  • Prevent other customers from licensing the beat;
  • Transfer the copyright in the underlying composition or recording; or
  • Give you rights beyond those expressly stated in the License.

Exclusive Beat Licenses

Where an exclusive Beat License is offered, the specific rights granted are those stated in the applicable exclusive License.

The word "exclusive" does not automatically mean that copyright ownership is transferred. Copyright or ownership transfers only where the written License expressly provides for an assignment or transfer.

Licenses validly granted to customers before an exclusive sale may continue according to their original terms unless the applicable exclusive License states otherwise.

3. Sample Packs, Sound Kits and Music Kits

Unless a product listing or Product-Specific License expressly states otherwise, sample packs, sound kits, music kits, drum kits, loops, one-shots, presets, MIDI files, and similar music-production resources sold through Normae are provided under a:

  • Non-exclusive license;
  • Royalty-free license; and
  • License permitting personal and commercial music production.

Commercial Use

You may incorporate licensed sounds into your own original musical compositions and productions. Subject to the applicable License, you may commercially:

  • Release resulting songs;
  • Distribute resulting recordings;
  • Upload resulting music to streaming services;
  • Monetize resulting music;
  • Sell resulting recordings;
  • Perform resulting music;
  • Produce music for clients;
  • Use resulting music in audiovisual projects; and
  • Otherwise commercially exploit an original production containing the licensed material.

Royalty-Free Use

Where a product is identified as royalty-free, you are not required to pay Abba Dagu continuing royalties solely because you incorporated licensed sounds from that product into an original musical production.

Royalty-free does not mean copyright-free. Royalty-free does not mean ownership of the original source files is transferred to you. Abba Dagu or the applicable rights holder retains ownership of the original samples, sounds, presets, MIDI files, loops, and other source material.

4. Restrictions on Sample and Kit Source Files

Unless a Product-Specific License expressly permits otherwise, you may not:

  • Resell the original source files;
  • Redistribute the source files;
  • Share the product so another person can avoid purchasing their own copy;
  • Upload the source files to a public file-sharing service;
  • Repackage the files into another sample pack;
  • Repackage the files into another drum kit;
  • Repackage the files into another sound kit;
  • Repackage the files into another loop pack;
  • Repackage the files into another preset pack;
  • Repackage the files into another MIDI pack;
  • Sell a substantially unmodified sample as a standalone product;
  • Claim authorship of original source material you did not create; or
  • Transfer the product to another person except where expressly permitted.

5. Non-Exclusive Samples and Content Identification

Some samples, loops, sounds, presets, MIDI files, and other production materials may be licensed to multiple customers. You acknowledge that another customer may lawfully use the same licensed source material.

You should not register an unmodified or substantially unmodified non-exclusive sample, loop, or source file by itself with a content-identification or audio-fingerprinting system in a manner that improperly generates copyright claims against other authorized users.

6. Presets

Unless otherwise stated, presets may be used to create personal and commercial musical productions. You may use sounds generated using a purchased preset in your own musical works.

You may not, unless expressly permitted:

  • Redistribute the original preset files;
  • Resell the preset files;
  • Include the original presets in another preset pack; or
  • Share the purchased preset library with unauthorized users.

7. MIDI Files

Unless otherwise stated, MIDI files may be incorporated into personal and commercial musical productions. You may edit, arrange, transpose, and use the musical output created with the licensed MIDI files as part of your own production.

You may not redistribute the original MIDI collection as a standalone downloadable product or competing MIDI pack.

8. Software and Plugins

Software Products are governed by the Software End User License Agreement and any Product-Specific License presented with the software.

Output legitimately created using our Software Products may generally be used in commercial music production unless the applicable Software Product terms expressly state otherwise.

9. Products With Special Terms

Some products may contain:

  • Third-party samples;
  • Collaborator-created material;
  • Special royalty requirements;
  • Publishing requirements;
  • Credit requirements;
  • Clearance requirements;
  • Revenue-sharing requirements; or
  • Other usage restrictions.

Where such requirements apply, they will be identified in the relevant product listing or Product-Specific License. Those Product-Specific terms will control over the standard licensing terms described on this page.

10. Refunds and License Termination

Where a refund is issued for a licensed Product, the License associated with the refunded purchase may terminate in accordance with our Refund & Cancellation Policy and applicable Product-Specific License.

After termination, you may not begin new uses of the refunded Product.
